Engineering...
This has been by far the most challenging prep piece I have done yet!
The Facade of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, (pronounced: Paah-rwee)
We started like always, with a bodysketch and tracing, then I told my client
(after a brief break to MOVE THE ENTIRE STUDIO IN LESS THAN A WEEK)
I started putting the details into the overlay...
I knew it was going to be complicated from the beginning, but about 4-5 hours into prep, I was sitting there wondering what I'd taken on!
And that is just to DRAW it!
It bewilders me the number of man-hours that must have gone into this thing!
All in all, i think it is going be an amazing piece!
As the prep stretched I called Ms. Na to re-confirm- she is all systems go and so am I!
Can't wait to ink this design tommorrow :)

Sex
"Sex"
8x8
Helvetica, American Apparel advertisements, farewell letter to 1500 illegal workers.
Tariq Sabur, 2009
This is a piece I made in school today. aaaah art school. where artists can make statements.
I thought I would share.
This piece is commentary on the use of sex in advertisement. It is composed entirely of internationally released, public display advertisements. The center "E" is a farewell letter from the CEO of the advertisement's company to 1500 factory workers that were deported upon being discovered to be illegal immigrants.
Please note: This is not, at all representative of all the wonderful things I have to say about the glory that is Sex. But i made it in school and thought it was cool. :)
